Meet Apollo Woods, creator of OKC Black Eats from Duncan Oklahoma. Apollo begin his journey 14 years ago providing clients partners with technology and consulting solutions to improve productivity and bottom-line profits. With humble beginnings Apollo learned the value of service with his local church and family, an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and various community organizations as well as is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.. Over the years, he became the recipient of numerous recognitions, Texas Southern University's 40 Under 40, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man of The Year finalist and nominated for The Journal Record 40 Under 40.
OKC Black Eats
In 2017, Apollo founded OKC Black Eats to increase awareness and visibility of Black-owned restaurants and culinary artists in OKC. His Goals: Our goal is to stimulate the local economy by circulating local dollars in predominately African/African American communities. In less than 2 years, OKC Black Eats has generated more than $420,000+ in sales revenue for small business restaurants in OKC Metro. In January 2019, Apollo took a leap of faith into entrepreneurship to provide marketing and consulting solutions for minority owned businesses in Oklahoma City. But in March 23 of 2019, OKC Black Eats hosted the inaugural NEOKC Developer’s Conference at the University of Oklahoma – Downtown Campus. The mission of the NEOKC Developer’s Conference is dedicated to giving investors and investor hopefuls, both men and women alike, the skills to achieve their real estate investing goals to build wealth through real estate in NEOKC. The success of NDC resulted in a nomination for the Urban Land Institute Impact Award. The Urban Land Institute Oklahoma, an education, research and resource organization focused on providing leadership in the responsible use of land and creating and sustaining thriving communities. On January 31, 2020, NDC was named a recipient of its prestigious annual Impact Awards for Outstanding Community Building Effort.
